Heather and Josh got married in cowboy boots amongst the trees
Heather and Josh managed to pull off one of the most beautiful and relaxed weddings I’ve ever been to. Not only was it set at the picturesque Nga Manu Nature Reserve in Waikanae with a stunning couple, their sweet baby and a country theme, but their guests got into the spirit and dressed up in theme.
You know it’s a good wedding when you start getting a bit teary during speeches about people who were almost strangers the day before!
Josh grew an impressive moustache for the occasion and serenaded his bride with a country song about how true love never goes out of fashion, and Heather, amongst many other things, made her own dress! They were surrounded by such warmth and happiness, it was like they made the forest glow. They had a live country band playing all evening, a cake made of cheese (always a winner in my books) and as the day darkened they screened a Western inside while the band played outside.
When I arrived at Nga Manu before the ceremony and met Josh’s parents for the first time, I said to his mum Christine “Heather looks divine!” and she said “We thought she was divine the day we met her and we love her so much.” It was so sweet and exemplified the kind of family support and love that this couple has. They handed out trail mix and ice creams for the ten minute walk through the bush to the ceremony.
I gave the photos a slightly vintage look to fit in with the theme of their wedding.
Thanks for having me capture your special day Heather, Josh, and Elsie. Wishing you a long and happy marriage!
